Artist Statement

My medium of choice is merino wool fiber.  I am attracted to the tactile experience of working with wool.  The entire process from sourcing the fiber, developing colors, picking and carding the wool, spinning the wool into yarn, designing and hand knitting each piece is a very elaborate but ultimately extremely gratifying process.  My goal in every piece that I create is to maximize the beauty of natural wool fiber that I use and to ensure that the end result is something that can be appreciated by those who share my aesthetic.  I hope that my creations will be passed on to future generations.  Knitting is an ancient craft and my designs are simple and relevant to modern lifestyle.
